Half-day on-road riding
assessment
£40
each for 2 paired riders, £65 one-to-one
This is a basic evaluation of your
riding, with the emphasis on picking out traits which might put you at
greater risk
of an accident. We meet up at an agreed location, run through a safety
briefing, get the disclaimers signed off and then get out onto the road.
Each rider (if two riders to one
instructor) takes a turn at going in front so the instructor can assess
them. We stop,
do a debrief where we outline the key safety points and give an
indication on how to correct any issues. Then we swap so the other rider
goes in front for the same.
If appropriate the instructor may
decide to do a demonstration ride, where he/she goes in front and the
students take
it in turns to go second and third, so they can observe how the
instructor tackles the issues discussed, otherwise the students each have
another go at the front.
After the assessments are complete,
we stop at a convenient location to do a final debrief and complete the
paperwork,
which is a summary of your individual learning points which you can
take away to mull over and put into practise. Expect this session
to last about 3 hours, around two of which are spent on the road.
Please note that due to time
constraints this can only be a very basic starting point in your
further development.
